Today Google Analytics is definitely the most widely used web analytics system in the world. It offers all the features a professional analyst would look for, it has a clear and easy to use interface and it is fast and reliable. As we see it: Google Analytics is the benchmark for all the other free of charge or commercial systems.

Comments:

Google Analytics sets the standards in web analytics. It offers that many features, that you can always ask a consultant from other systems: Why should I pay for your system when I can get it for free from Google.

But there are things GA don't provides: An integration of testing and analysis, transparency, online surveys, seemless integration of analytics data in in-house systems, enriching traffic data with customer or product data etc. Google Analytics is a good starting point into web analytics but most professional users will seek for more flexibility after some time.
